Emotional Stress and the Mind-Body Connection
Written by Dr. David Wardy, D.C.
There are 3 kinds of stress that affect us on a daily basis, physical, chemical, and emotional stress. Most people understand how physical and chemical stress can impact our bodies. My patients are always asking me how the mind can affect the body when we have emotional stress. Whether its emotional stress from work, family, friends, finances, etc.... this kind of stress has a huge impact on our health. Many diseases that we see today such as high blood pressure and others are all diseases of adaptation that are caused by emotional stress. At Wardy Wellness our approach to treating our patients addresses emotional stress to help bring balance to the mind-body connection. Below is a great illustration that shows how different parts of our body react.
